Fees & Rebates
Initial consultations are $193.99 and typically run for one hour. Review consultations are $145.49 and usually run for 45 minutes.
There is a travel fee for mobile appointments, calculated based on travel time from Melbourne CBD at the time of your appointment:
0-10 minutes = $32.33
10-25 minutes = $64.66
Travel fees above are a guide only. The exact cost may vary depending on the specific location and circumstances. Please contact us if you would like to confirm the travel fee for your appointment.
You may be able to claim the cost of your session through your private health insurance, depending on your level of cover and the provider. Please check with your insurer directly to confirm eligibility and how to process your claim, as clients are responsible for making the claim themselves.
You may be eligible for rebates under Medicare for complex and chronic conditions. If you are unsure if you are eligible, please discuss this with your GP. Once your GP prepares a Chronic Disease Management plan, you will be able claim your rebate through Medicare after your session. Our consultation fees are greater than the Medicare rebate which means there will be out-of-pocket costs to you.
Referrals & Bookings
If you have a referral from your doctor, the next step is to book an appointment. This can be done easily online or by sending an email to info@singerspeechpathology.com. Once your appointment is confirmed, you’ll receive an email with all the details you need to feel prepared.
You do not need a referral to see a speech pathologist. However, if you have a chronic cough, voice issue, or breathing problem, it’s important to see a doctor to rule out underlying conditions and to support the diagnosis. In most cases, this means seeing an Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) specialist, especially one with expertise in laryngology (voice and airway disorders).
We collaborate with ENTs, respiratory physicians, and other medical professionals to ensure you receive the most appropriate and effective care.
To organise an appointment, please send an email to info@singerspeech.com or book directly here.
Telehealth
Yes, we see most of our clients on telehealth. We tailor our sessions to suit the virtual format, ensuring you still get the same expert support, strategies, and outcomes you’d expect in person.
Yes. Research shows that speech pathology delivered via telehealth, including voice, breathing, and chronic cough therapy, is just as effective as in-person sessions. Telehealth also offers added convenience, flexibility, and access from home, making it easier to fit therapy into busy schedules.
The platform we use at Singer Speech Pathology has specialised features, including secure video sessions, document sharing, and the ability to download files directly, so clients receive all the resources they need seamlessly. Many clients find they prefer telehealth and enjoy therapy in the comfort of their own environment.
No, special software is not required. The telehealth platform we use can be accessed securely through a web browser on a computer or tablet. It includes built-in features such as secure video, document sharing, and downloadable resources, so all materials and exercises can be accessed easily during and after your session.
A tablet can be used for sessions, although the view may be limited depending on the size of the screen. A phone isn’t recommended, as it won't allow you to see and use all of the features we need during therapy.
Our Clients
We see a range of adult clients who have laryngeal dysfunction. This includes people experiencing chronic cough, voice difficulties, or breathing difficulties such as inducible laryngeal obstruction. We also work with adults who have communication or swallowing difficulties, usually due to neurological conditions.
No, services are only provided for adults or older adolescents. There are many speech pathologists who specialise in paediatric care, and we can help connect you with someone who can help.
Yes, we see many NDIS clients who are plan or self-managed. We do not see NDIA-managed clients.

Absolutely.
For some clients, a videofluoroscopy or FEES may be recommended. These are different types of swallowing tests that need special equipment. These tests can be organised if required.
